Some jobs can't wait. A tree on the garage roof, a stump blocking a closing inspection, a sidewalk hazard the city flagged last week — we move things around to get those handled.

We're not a 24-hour emergency tree service, but we'll prioritize urgent stump and root jobs and most can be on the schedule within 24–48 hours during normal operating days.

Benefits

When 'emergency' applies

Storm damage

Tree down, stump in the way of repairs or insurance work.

Real estate timing

Closing this week and a stump just got flagged on the inspection report.

Safety hazard

Lifted root, broken stump, or kid-zone trip risk that needs to be gone yesterday.

Utility / city deadline

Right-of-way notice, code enforcement, or coop scheduling a line crew.

The details

What counts (and doesn't)

Honest take: most 'emergencies' aren't really emergencies — they're just on a deadline. That's still important and we treat it that way. But if the tree itself is unsafe or actively on a structure, you need a tree service first; we come grind after the wood is on the ground.

For true safety risks (lifted stump in a school playground, broken stump in a public right of way), call and we'll bump the route to fit it in.

Insurance jobs

We invoice itemized, photograph the work, and can communicate directly with your adjuster if needed. Most carriers reimburse stump removal as part of storm damage claims.

Real estate closings

Inspection flagged a stump? Send us the report excerpt and the address. We can usually be out the same week and have a paid invoice in time for the closing file.

What we can realistically promise on timing

We're one owner-operated outfit with one trailer, so 'emergency' here means we reshuffle a route, not that a second crew rolls at midnight. In practice: call before noon and there's a decent chance we can slot you the next working day; call Friday afternoon about a Monday closing and we'll usually make it. Weather is the wild card — saturated ground after a two-inch rain can push a grind two or three days because a loaded machine will rut a lawn into something worse than the stump was.

Depth and finish on a rush job

Urgency doesn't change the specs. A hazard stump still gets ground 6–10 inches below grade so nothing is left to catch a foot or a mower deck, the hole still gets raked and filled with the grindings, and we still photograph before and after. If a city or code officer issued the notice, tell us the exact language they used — sometimes they require the stump flush at grade and sometimes below, and grinding to the wrong spec means doing it twice.

What a rush actually costs

Most urgent jobs price the same as a scheduled one — $90–$250 for a typical residential stump. A genuine reroute, where we pull off another property or make a dedicated 40-mile trip for a single stump, carries a $75–$125 mobilization add-on, and we tell you that number on the phone before you commit. Nothing gets added after the fact.

How this differs from scheduled grinding

The machine, the depth, and the cleanup are identical to a standard grind — the only differences are calendar priority, same-day documentation, and a willingness to work a single stump 40 miles out that we'd normally batch into a route day. If your timeline is 'sometime this month,' book standard grinding and save the reroute fee.
